Misha Kiria

Georgian baritone Misha Kiria pursued his vocal studies at the Tbilisi State Conservatory and at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. His repertoire includes roles as Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Don Magnifico (La cenerentola), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and the title role of Falstaff. He has been invited to perform on prestigious stages as the Teatro alla Scala, Dutch National Opera, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Bregenz Festspiele and others. For the 2019/20 season he sang at Deutsche Oper Berlin Fra Melitone (La forza del destino), 2018/19 season he debuted at Teatro Real, as Falstaff, later on, he joined the Glyndebourne Opera Festival tour as Dulcamara in of L’elisir d’amore.

Highlights of recent seasons include his debut as Falstaff in a new production at Verdi Festival in Parma, Bartolo at De National Opera of Amsterdam, Lord Sidney (Il viaggio a Reims) at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Falstaff at Fondazione Teatro della Fortuna Fano, Teatro dell’Aquila Fermo, Teatro Marrucino di Chieti, Teatro Ventidio Basso, Ascoli Piceno, Blansac (La scala di seta) at Teatro alla Scalla, Belfiore (Un giorno di regno) at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona and Don Magnifico (La cenerentola) at Frankfurt Opera House as well as Zarete (Il paria) at the Barbican Hall in London.  Among his engagements in the 2021/22 season are Dulcamara at the Teatro Verdi di Salerno, Don Geronio (Il turco in Italia) at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Gianni Schicchi at the Salzburg Festival, Paolo (Simon Boccanegra) in Toyko and Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana) in Turin.
