
Paul Connelly
Paul Connelly is known worldwide as an acclaimed conductor for ballet. He was first Kapellmeister of the American Ballet Theatre and among others conductor at the New York City Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Royal Ballet London, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam, Staatsballett Berlin, Ballett Zürich, Ballet of the Teatro alla Scala, Ballet de L’Opéra Paris and Ballet of the Semperoper Dresden. In addition, he conducted numerous galas such as »Nureyev and Friends« or »Baryshnikov and Co« as well as John Neumeier’s film version of »Sylvia«. As an opera conductor, he was a guest at the Nice Opera House, the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Den Norske Opera Oslo and the Scala di Milano. Since 1991 Paul Connelly has been a regular guest at the Vienna State Opera, where he has conducted among others the opera »Il barbiere di Siviglia« and the ballets »Der Nussknacker«, »Don Quixote«, »Romeo und Julia«, »Dornröschen«, »La Fille mal gardée«, »Schwanensee«, »Giselle« and »Jewels«.
