Vera-Lotte Boecker

With her broad repertoire from the Renaissance to the modern age, Vera-Lotte Boecker has established herself in the most important music centers in Europe. As a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, she will be seen again in the season 2021/22 as Fusako Kuroda in Henze's Das verratene Meer, as Drusilla and Virtù in Monteverdi's Poppea, Micaela, Adele, Musetta and Nannetta, thus demonstrating her versatility. A special highlight is her role debut as Gilda. She will return to the Bavarian State Opera with Haas's Bluthaus (director: Claus Guth). The much sought-after artist is also active in the concert sector. She will be heard with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra under Andrés Orozco-Estrada in Beethoven's Der glorreiche Augenblick and with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Joana Mallwitz in Berg's Lulu Suite. Vera-Lotte Boecker was a member of the ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin from 2017-2020 and could be seen in three new productions: In The Bassarids by Hans Werner Henze as Autonoe (director: Barrie Kosky / conductor: Vladimir Jurowski), which she sang at the 2018 Salzburg Festival in a production by Krzysztof Warlikowski under the baton of Kent Nagano, in Frühlingsstürme by Jaromír Weinberger as Lydia (director: Barrie Kosky) and as Violetta Valéry in Verdi's La traviata.

At Komische Oper Berlin she made debuts as Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Micaela, Viktoria (Viktoria und ihr Husar) and Musetta (La Bohème). On tour with Barrie Kosky’s celebrated Zauberflöte, Ms. Boecker sang Pamina in Beijing, Tokyo, Paris and New York. She portrayed the role of Prinzessin Natalie von Oranien in Henze’s Prinz von Homburg at Staatsoper Stuttgart, a production by Stephan Kimmig which is available on DVD. Further recordings include Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Dresdner Sinfoniker conducted by Michael Sanderling. At the 2016 Münchner Opernfestspiele, she generated an international buzz when she took over on short notice the part of Eudoxie alongside Roberto Alagna in a new production of La Juive directed by Calixto Bieito and conducted by Bertrand de Billy. Ms. Boecker’s repertoire ranges from Mozart to George Benjamin, in whose internationally acclaimed opera Written on Skin she sang the role of Agnès in several productions.

She has received the first prize, audience prize and orchestra prize at the Vokal Genial competition in Munich, hosted by the Konzertgesellschaft München and Bayerischer Rundfunk and is a scholarship holder of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and the Richard-Wagner-Verband Mannheim. Ms. Boecker was born in Brühl and studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. She complemented her studies at the opera studio oft he Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen.
