Maxim Mironov

Russian tenor MAXIM MIRONOV began his career winning the prestigious Neue Stimmen competition in Germany. A graduate of the Moscow’s Gnessin State Musical College under the tuition of Dmitry Vdovin, he joined the Helikon Opera Theatre of Moscow, where he made his operatic debut. He is now considered to be one of the greatest Rossini tenors of today. 

He has performed on many prestigious stages including at the Teatro Real Madrid, Aix en-Provence Festival, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Théâtre des Champs-Elysees Paris, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Dresden Semperoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Glyndebourne Festival, Théatre de la Monnaie, Opera de Paris, Japan Opera Foundation Tokyo, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Las Palmas Opera, Vlaamse Opera, Antwerp and Théatre de Luxembourg. In the United States, he made his debut at the Los Angeles Opera for Il Turco in Italia to great acclaim and returned to America for La Cenerentola with Washington National Opera, and Orfeo ed Eurydice with Los Angeles Opera. Known for his exceptional Rossini roles, he has been the protagonist in works including L’Italiana in Algeri, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Il Viaggio a Reims and La Cenerentola, most recently to high acclaim at the Rossini Opera Festival in August 2018. Maxim continues to perform at the top houses around the world. Engagements this season and beyond include Almaviva (Barbiere) at Berlin Staatsoper, Liceu Barcelona, and La Fenice Venice; Ernesto (Don Pasquale) at New National Theatre Tokyo, and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florence; Orphée (Orphée et Eurydice) at Hamburgische Staatsoper and Baden-Baden; and Lindoro (Italiana in Algeri) at the TCE Paris, and Wiener Staatsoper, and the title role (Le Comte Ory) at Opéra de Monte-Carlo.

His discography includes numerous recordings on CD and DVD for Dynamic, Bongiovanni, Bel Air Classic, and Opus Arte. He features on the CD of I Briganti (Naxos), recorded live at the Rossini in Wildbad Opera Festival in July 2012 and recorded Rossini's Ricciardo e Zoraide in which he sings the title role (Naxos 2014). His debut solo disc La Ricordanza was released in 2017, based on Bellini’s life, consisting of a series of narrative recitals in which the tenor tells the story of Bellini through his vocal chamber music, exploring the personal side of his biography. He recently released his second solo disc Questo è Rossini! with Illiria, a tribute to the composer on the 150th anniversary of his passing. 

At the Wiener Staatsoper, Maxim Mironov sang Lindoro in 2011 and 2017, and has also sung Don Ramiro, Ernesto, and Almaviva
