Bekhzod Davronov

Bekhzod Davronov was the second prize winner at the Operalia Competition in 2021. His recent engagements included a series of exciting house and role debuts, including Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) at the Teatro di San Carlo, Prunier (La rondine) at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Alfredo (La traviata) at the Santa Fe Opera, and Rodolfo (La bohème) at the Staatsoper Prag. On the concert stage, he also performed a concert version of Iolanta with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Bellini's Norma with the Boston Youth Symphony. Current invitations lead him to the Semperoper in Dresden, the Dallas Opera, the Irish National Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and the Bayerische Staatsoper. Recent highlights include Rodolfo at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Tour, Anatol Kuragin in a new production of War and Peace at the Bayerische Staatsoper, and Aljeja (The House of the Dead) at the Ruhrtriennale. Bekhzod Davronov is a graduate of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, where he made his debut in the roles of the Duke (Rigoletto), Tamino (The Magic Flute), and the title role in The Tales of Hoffmann. He then moved to the Opera Studio of the Great Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Alischer Navoi in Tashkent, where he participated in Aleko and sang the role of Bojar Lykow in The Tsar's Bride. Bekhzod Davronov, originally from Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is currently a member of the ensemble at the Bolshoi Theater, where he has recently performed in La traviata, Beatrice et Benedict, Boris Godunow, The Tsar's Bride, The Tale of Tsar Saltan, and The Demon.
