Udo Haberland

Udo Haberland worked as a photographer in Berlin until the 1980s. In 1988 he started to work for film and television productions and for the State Theatre in Stuttgart. As a freelance light designer or lighting master, he has received commissions for ballet, dance, opera and drama in Europe, the USA and Australia and was engaged for many years at festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele, Wiener Festwochen and Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele. In the event sector, he created the light design for brands like Hugo BOSS, Formula 1 and Strenesse. In Film and TV-commercials he worked for numerous broadcasters and well-known companies. For the choreographer Marco Goecke, Udo Haberland developed the light designs for all productions of the Stuttgart Ballet as well as world premieres at the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris, Nederlands Dans Theater, Staatsballett Berlin, Norwegian National Ballet Oslo, Ballett am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg and Staatsballett Hannover. In addition, Udo Haberland has a close collaboration with choreographers such as Cayetano Soto, Örjan Andersson, Jérôme Delby, Giovanni Di Palma and Bridget Breiner.
