Two of this season's premiere productions, which were or will be performed only for cameras and microphones, can now be shown in front of an audience: Calixto Bieito's production of Carmen and Frank Castorf's production of Faust.

In addition to these two belated premieres, a total of four more premieres will be staged until the end of June: L'incoronazione di Poppea - the prelude of the planned Monteverdi trilogy -, Macbeth directed by Barrie Kosky with Anna Netrebko as Lady Macbeth, the ballet three-parter Tänze Bilder Sinfonien with the world premiere of Martin Schläpfer's Symphony No. 15 as well as Der Barbier für Kinder, the first children's opera production to be seen on the stage in the big house under the new direction.

For the period from 19 to 25 May, the programme had to be slightly revised in accordance with the new circumstances. In addition to the two Faust performances, there will also be two performances of Tosca with Sonya Yoncheva in the title role and Piotr Beczała as Mario Cavaradossi. On June 1 will be a recital by Diana Damrau.
