Martin Schläpfer about »Die Jahreszeiten«

In »The Seasons« the aged Joseph Haydn composed a large-scale secular oratorio about how mankind is integrated into the cycle of nature – a music that is full of colours, full of brilliance and great rhetorical power, which inspired Martin Schläpfer to create a full-length ballet. In an interview and with excerpts from rehearsals, the ballet director and chief choreographer of the Vienna State Ballet provides insights into his work, which will premiere on April 30, 2022 at the Vienna State Opera.
