About Lise Davidsen
Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen, one of the most internationally sought-after Richard Wagner interpreters, whose voice will shape the coming years, will give a soloist concert at the Staatsoper on September 28.
There has already been talk in the media about a "flooding giant voice" (Die Welt), about the "greatest dramatic talent since Birgit Nilsson and Kirsten Flagstad, indeed about an absolutely exceptional phenomenon, the long-awaited voice in a million" (Telegraph). She has enjoyed overwhelming success at opera houses around the world, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Opéra Garnier in Paris. Davidsen recently appeared at the Vienna State Opera as Sieglinde in Die Walküre, as Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes and as Ariadne in the title role of Ariadne auf Naxos .
