Management / Commercial Management

From September 01, 2025, the Vienna State Opera is looking for a

Data protection expert, part-time 20h

 

Tasks:

  • Supervision of all topics relevant to data protection and data protection law
  • Ongoing further development of internal data protection measures
  • Coordination with all departments and establishment of a data protection team
  • Monitoring compliance with legal and company-relevant data protection regulations
  • Processing data protection incidents
  • Collaboration in the creation and implementation of data protection training for employees
  • Contact person for data protection issues (internal and external)
  • Participation in data protection meetings of the Bundestheater Group
  • Supporting the compliance team as required

 

Requirements:

  • Several years of professional experience in the field of data protection
  • Completed relevant (university) education
  • Completed training as a certified data protection officer or comparable training
  • Willingness for further qualification
  • Professional experience in the arts and cultural sector desirable
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Independent, organized, structured and precise way of working
  • Independent personality with hands-on mentality and interest in organization and coordination

 

For this position we offer a monthly salary from € 3,900 gross based on full-time employment. Overpayment is possible depending on qualifications and experience. (The minimum salary according to the collective agreement is € 2,887.65 gross per month based on full-time employment)

Technical management

To strengthen our stage/wallpaperers department, we are looking for the following with immediate effect

→ a stage wallpaperer (f/m/d)

The following tasks await you:

  • Laying the floor coverings (dance flooring for ballet performances)
  • Covering the stage floor with floor cloths
  • Assembly of all textile decoration parts attached in the stage design area
  • Repair work on these decorative elements

You should have the following qualities:

  • Manual skills and technical understanding
  • Completed apprenticeship as an upholsterer or upholsterer is an advantage
  • High level of commitment

  • Very good physical condition and resilience

  • Absolutely no fear of heights and a head for heights

  • Ability to work in a team, reliability and the ability to work under pressure

  • Willingness to work irregular hours (evenings, weekends and public holidays as well as split shifts)

  • As a male applicant: completed military or civilian service

  • Fundamental interest in musical theater and good manners

  • Very good knowledge of German

  • Willingness to work overtime and take part in guest performances abroad

The collectively agreed starting salary is at least EUR 2,683.95 gross per month (full-time basis) 14 times a year, plus various allowances and overtime pay. A higher salary is possible with proof of completed vocational training or through the recognition of previous employment.

The following position is vacant in the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera (Vienna Philharmonic):

Prerequisite for participation is a general availability for the entire rehearsal and performance period and the willingness to be available for rehearsals and performances at the usual theater times. A love of acting and the ability to fit in well in a group with numerous participants.
