Jieun Shim
Jieun Shim was born in South Korea. She trained at the Universal Ballet Junior Company and the Sunhwa Arts Middle/High School in Seoul as well as at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO). As a student at this school, she won 2nd prize in the senior category at the Prix du Nord in 2021 and has already taken part in performances of The Nutcracker and La Bayadère with the Norwegian National Ballet. In 2022, she joined the Semperoper Ballett Dresden, first as an apprentice and then as a member of the Corps de ballet. Her repertoire there included Princess Florine in The Sleeping Beauty in the version by Marcelo Gomes, Aaron S. Watkin & Marius Petipa, roles in The Nutcracker by Aaron S. Watkin & Jason Beechey and works by Nacho Duato and Johan Inger.
Since the 2024/25 season, Jieun Shim is a member of the Corps de ballet of the Vienna State Ballet.
