
Marianela Nuñez was born in Buenos Aires and educated at the Teatro Colón Ballet School. At the age of 14 she joined the Teatro Colón Company. After further education at the Ballet School of the Wiener Staatsoper and the Royal Ballet School she joined the Royal Ballet in 1998 and was appointed Principal Dancer in 2002. She toured internationally, both with the company and as a guest artist with Maximiliano Guerra. She has appeared as a guest artist with companies including American Ballet Theatre, Australian Ballet, La Scala, Ballet Estable del Teatro Colón and Teatro Argentino de La Plata. Awards and honours: „Critics’ Circle National Dance Award“ (Best Female Dancer, 2005 and 2012), „Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance“ (2013).
