We are looking to strengthen our lighting department with immediate effect
→ Lighting technicians (full-time)
Tasks:
- Setting up, connecting and illuminating spotlights on the stage, the lighting bridges and the galleries - in daily operations / during rehearsals and performances
- Maintaining and carrying out repair work on the extensive lighting equipment
- The production of custom-made lighting equipment
- The computer-aided documentation of the various lighting equipment
Required training:
- Completed vocational training in an electrical trade - e.g. electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics
- or completed vocational training as an event technician
Requirements:
- Technical understanding and manual skills
- Professional experience in a theater or in the field of event technology
- Fundamental interest in musical theater and good manners
- Absolute head for heights/ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in a team, reliability and the ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work irregular hours (evenings, weekends and public holidays as well as split shifts)
- As a male applicant: completed military or civilian service
- Very good knowledge of German
- Willingness to work overtime and take part in guest performances abroad

- Laying the floor coverings (dance flooring for ballet performances)

Scenic service
The Vienna State Opera is looking for a person of short stature with microsomia (m/f/d) to perform in a full-body costume for a production in the 2025/26 season.
Rehearsals and performances in the period from 27.12.2025 to 1.3.2026 (last performance in the 2025/26 season).

Ballet
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a porter for the Opera School and Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera from September 2025
8 h per week (part-time); Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30 - 6:30 pm
Tasks:
- Reception service and mediation
- Visitor registration (keeping admission lists)
- Telephone service
- Supporting the students if required

Tasks:
- Administrative support for the directorate and management of the Ballet Academy in the area of school administration
- Contact person for partner institutions, ministries, management of the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper (processing inquiries from stakeholders)
- Drafting, revising and reviewing contracts (e.g. cooperation agreements, license agreements, employment contracts, work contracts, etc.) for school operations and Ballet Academy productions
- Project management and monitoring of collaborations with schools
- Project management and content-related collaboration in the area of statutes, school regulations, guidelines of the Ballet Academy
