Tickets and prices
Dance in the elegant ballroom, stroll through the opera house, visit the various bars, enjoy the duverse musical program - all this is included in the ticket price, as are the ball donations at the end of the ball night. In addition, every ticket price includes a solidarity contribution for Österreich hilft Österreich, an initiative for people in need in our country.
How do I get tickets?
The demand for tickets for the Vienna Opera Ball has risen massively in recent years.
As we are not allowed to exceed a maximum number of guests due to official regulations, we are unfortunately unable to meet all the demand.
Sales for the 2026 ball will therefore be staggered and the possibility of purchasing "simple" tickets will be regulated by means of a draw.
Only after the draw for the purchase of "simple" tickets will it be possible to order tickets in conjunction with table seating.
If you only wish to purchase entrance tickets (no table seats or boxes), you can register for the draw free of charge from June 2 - 4, 2025 using a registration form. The opportunity to purchase tickets will then be allocated at random from among all those taking part in the draw. If you have been drawn, you will be notified by us immediately. The time at which you sent the order within the above-mentioned period does not play a role in the draw. You can order a maximum of 4 tickets.
If you do not hear from us by Monday, June 23, you will unfortunately not be included in the draw. In this case, you will automatically be placed on a waiting list, which will be drawn up at random, and we will inform you if tickets become available again.
The spectator ticket allows you to watch the opening in the ballroom (from the gallery, the balcony or the stalls).
A spectator ticket alone does not entitle you to enter the ballroom, but can only be ordered together with an admission ticket (with or without a table seat).
If you are generally interested in spectator tickets, you can indicate this when you register for the draw or when you place your order from June 25, 2025. However, as these tickets are only available in very limited numbers, we ask for your understanding that we cannot guarantee an allocation in this regard and may only be able to offer you admission tickets and table seats.
The opening can be followed - even without a spectator ticket - via several screens throughout the building.
Members of the Official Circle of Friends of the Vienna State Opera, whose membership fees support the opera house's work with young talent, have advance purchase rights for opera ball tickets from the Patron level upwards, depending on their membership level.
If you are interested in becoming a member, you will find all the information you need at our Circle of Friends.

Admission ticket
A ticket for the Opera Ball 2026 costs € 410 (incl. € 35 donation).
Please note that the ticket does not include a seat or a fixed standing place in the hall during the opening.
With a spectator ticket for the opening, you have a fixed seat or standing room that gives you an excellent view of the dance floor.
Seat balcony or gallery 1st or 2nd row | 250 € (incl. 10 € donation) |
Balcony or gallery seat 3rd or 4th row | 200 € (incl. 10 € donation) |
Balcony or gallery seat 5th or 6th row | 180 € (incl. 10 € donation) |
Reserved standing area first floor (elevated) or balcony or gallery | 100 € (incl. 10 € donation) |
Without a spectator ticket, you can follow the opening via live stream on one of the numerous screens installed in the various rooms or try to secure one of our free standing places in the ballroom ("first come, first served") from the moment you enter.
All spectator tickets can only be booked in conjunction with regular tickets.
Prices excl. admission ticket and catering.
In order to offer you the perfect ball experience, we recommend reserving a table in addition to your admission ticket. This means you have a guaranteed seat for the entire evening of the ball, can order food and drinks directly to your table and do not have to queue at the buffet. Live music is played in many rooms after the opening.
The number of seats at a table varies per room. In most cases, a table seats 4 or 6 people. You can purchase individual seats or an entire table.
Please note that all tables are located outside the ballroom.
All tables can only be booked in conjunction with regular tickets.
Prices exclude admission ticket and catering.
