Debut at the Opera Ball

The entry of the opening committee into the grand ballroom is one of the highlights of every Vienna Opera Ball - dance-loving couples aged 18 to 25 (ladies) or 29 (men) with very good left-hand waltz skills have the opportunity to make their debut in the most beautiful ballroom in the world.

Application requirements: Interested couples must have very good left-hand waltz skills, be at least 18 and a maximum of 25 (ladies) or 29 (men) years old on the day of the Opera Ball (February 12, 2026) and have not yet opened the Vienna Opera Ball.

Dancing couples from Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland, Linz and Wels will be invited to audition on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Vienna State Opera after all applications have been reviewed.

Dancing couples from the other federal states and from abroad are free to travel to the audition or alternatively submit a video showing their left-hand waltz skills.
