Vladimir Aćimović

The young Serbian-born pianist Vladimir Aćimović began his piano studies with Milena Kurteva and Suzana Novaković in Bulgaria and continued his education there with Iliya Chernaev. He earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz under Milana Chernyavska, where he is currently pursuing his Master’s degree. At the same time, he studied at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade under Lidija Stanković and is currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts there, while also working as a teaching assistant.

As a scholarship recipient of the International Music Academy Liechtenstein, the Mozart Society Dortmund, and the Aspen Music Festival, he has worked with renowned mentors such as Yoheved Kaplinsky, Arie Vardi, and Dmitri Bashkirov. He is a prizewinner at several international piano competitions for young pianists, including “Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam” in Bydgoszcz and the “Robert Schumann” competition in Düsseldorf, where he was awarded the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) Prize. In 2023, he was a finalist at the 64th International Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition and is a participant of the 19th International Frédéric Chopin Competition in 2025.

He has performed with various orchestras across Europe. His debut CD featuring works by Felix Draeseke will be released in fall 2026 on the Naxos label.

Vladimir Aćimović will make his house debut at the Vienna State Opera in June 2025 with Morton Feldman's Ixion for two pianos in Merce Cunningham's Summerspace.
