Sarah Branch

Sarah Branch was born in Vancouver and received her training at Canada’s National Ballet School Toronto. In 2016 she won the Peter Dwyer Award and the Erik Bruhn Award. For the season 2016/17 she was an apprentice with Semperoper Ballett Dresden and danced in the Corps de ballet among others in Kenneth MacMillan’s »Manon«, Aaron S. Watkin’s »Don Quixote« und George Balanchine’s »Theme and Variations«. Subsequent she became a dancer at the Opera Nova Bydgoszcz in Poland from 2017 to 2019, where she was promoted to Coryphée in her second season. Sarah Branch danced soloist parts in Paul Chalmer’s »Romeo and Juliet« and »The Nutcracker« as well as the leading role of Cinderella in Iwona Runowska’s same named ballet. In 2019/20 she had a guest contract with The National Ballet of Canada and was seen in James Kudelka’s »The Nutcracker« and George Balanchine’s »Chaconne«. Sarah Branch has been a member of the Corps de ballets of the Vienna State Ballet since the 2020/21 season. She danced, among others, Wendy and Tinker Bell in Vesna Orlić's »Peter Pan«, Rabbit in Lotte de Beer's & Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker« and parts in Elena Tschernischova's »Giselle«, Rudolf Nureyev's »Swan Lake« as well as in Martin Schläpfer's »Sinfonie Nr. 15«, »Ein Deutsches Requiem« and »The Seasons«. Furthermore, she performed in musicals, operettas and opera productions at the Volksoper Wien.
