Ruxandra Donose

Mezzo soprano RUXANDRA DONOSE was born in Bucharest. She studied in her hometown as well as in Vienna. After fixed contracts, for instance at Vienna State Opera, she switched to free-lance work and regularly performs on major stages, such as Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, in Paris, at New York Metropolitan Opera and Salzburg Festival. Recently, she has sung Elektra in Manfred Trojahn’s Orest at Zurich Opera, Octavian at Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Adalgisa in Geneva, Jocasta in Oedipe in Bucharest, Kundry at Baden-Baden Festival Hall, Alcina in Orlando furioso at Theater an der Wien and Princess Eboli at Grange Park Opera. Current and upcoming engagements include Sieglinde at Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, and Brangäne and Eboli at Royal Opera House Covent Garden. At Vienna State Opera, Ruxandra Donose has sung numerous roles, among them Rosina, Cherubino, Nicklausse, Suzuki, Adalgisa, Mercédès, Dryad, Bersi, Varvara, Fyodor and Lola.
