Robin Ticciati OBE is one of the outstanding conductors of his generation. From 2017 to 2024 he served as Chief Conductor of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, where he set standards with artistic vision, exceptional programming and innovative presentation formats. Since 2014 he has been Music Director of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera and is an Honorary Member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Born in London in 1983 to an Italian family, he first trained as a violinist, pianist and percussionist before turning to conducting at an early age. His mentors included Sir Colin Davis and Sir Simon Rattle. As a guest conductor he appears regularly with the Berliner and Wiener Philharmoniker, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. On the opera stage he has conducted at La Scala in Milan, the Salzburg Festival, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. Upcoming highlights include Wagner’s Parsifal at the Glyndebourne Festival as well as his debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
