Patrick Lange’s conducting has been described as “sensuous in sound and empathetic” (BR Klassik) and “from the very first bar: magic!” (klassik begeistert).

From 2017 to 2022 he served as General Music Director of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Today, the Nuremberg-born conductor is a regular guest at theaters such as the Vienna State Opera and the Paris Opera.

Further engagements have taken him to the Bavarian State Opera, Opéra du Capitole in Toulouse, Semperoper Dresden, Royal Opera House London, Opera Australia in Sydney, Opernhaus Zürich, Canadian Opera Company Toronto, Korean National Opera Seoul, Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg, and the Hong Kong Arts Festival.

Most recently, he conducted new productions of Madama Butterfly at Landestheater Linz, Le comte Ory at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Die Zauberflöte at Opera North in England, Mahler’s Fourth Symphony at the Vienna State Opera, and Der fliegende Holländer in St. Margarethen. He also appeared at the Opéra National de Paris for an opera gala and conducted the New Year’s Concert of the WDR Funkhausorchester.
