Nino Machaidze
Nino MACHAIDZE received her vocal training in Tbilisi, where she gave guest performances at Paliashvili Theatre as Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Gilda (Rigoletto), amongst others. In 2005 she was accepted at La Scala Theatre Academy, taking the role of Marie in Donizetti’s La Fille du regiment in 2007, which she later also performed in Rome and Barcelona. Further engagements took her to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Opéra national de Paris, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, and to Bayerische and Hamburgische Staatsoper, as well as Salzburg Festival. Most recently, she sang Rosina at Arena di Verona, Luisa (Luisa Miller) in Zurich, Gilda in San Francisco, Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de perles) in Los Angeles, Violetta in Naples, Nedda in Geneva, Thaïs at Liceu. In the near future, she will be singing Luisa in Hamburg, Rosina at Dutch National Opera, Antonia in Naples and Manon (Manon Lescaut) at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. At Vienna State Opera, she has so far sung Adina, in 2014.
