Maria Pia Piscitelli

The soprano MARIA PIA PISCITELLI was born in Giovinazzo (Bari), where she also studied singing. She gave her debut in Cavallis Calisto in Vincenza. Very soon after, engagements followed at the Maggio Musicale in Florence, in Ravenna, Rome, Palermo, Tokyo, Schwetzingen and Wiesbaden. She gave her debut at the Milan Scala in Lucrezia Borgia, in San Francisco as Donna Elvira, in Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires as Norma. Further performances include among others Leonora (Trovatore) at the Liceu in Barcelona, as Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda in Macerata and Venice, Beijing and at the Deutschen Oper Berlin (Contessa d’Almaviva), the Hamburg Staatsoper (Donna Elvira), in Paris and Lyon (Elisabetta in Roberto Devereux), Naples (Semiramide), Lima (Aida), Buenos Aires (Forza-Leonora). Current and future engagements are leading the singer to the Fenice in Venice (Donna Elvira), to the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Alice Ford), to the Teatro Real in Madrid (Elisabetta in Roberto Devereux), the Semperoper (Lady Macbeth), the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv (Norma and Lady Macbeth). She gave her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in May 2014 as Norma and has also sung Elisabetta (Don Carlo).
