Luciano Ganci began his musical career as a chorister in the Coro della Cappella Musicale Pontificia Sistina and studied voice, piano, and organ. In addition, he completed a degree in urban and landscape planning. Today, he is counted worldwide—particularly in the Verdi and Puccini repertoire—among the most sought-after tenors of our time.

Most recently, he sang the leading tenor roles in three productions at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Aida, Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly); in Adriana Lecouvreur at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie; in Dalinda at the Konzerthaus Berlin (world premiere); in the Requiem by Verdi at Milan Cathedral; in Aida in the Arena di Verona; in Pagliacci in Sassari (Italy); in Madama Butterfly at the Puccini Festival; in Fedora in Piacenza and Modena; in Simon Boccanegra at the New National Theatre Tokyo; in Un ballo in maschera at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona; as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna; and as Jacopo Foscari in I due Foscari at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza.

He also appeared at Den Norske Opera & Ballett in Madama Butterfly, at the Salzburg Easter Festival in Verdi’s Requiem under Antonio Pappano, in a concert performance of Aida under Riccardo Muti at the Tokyo Spring Festival, and at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Don Carlo.

Furthermore, he performed for the first time as Calaf in Turandot at the Caracalla Festival; sang Stiffelio at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona; and appeared at the Parma Verdi Festival in Macbeth (French version) and Attila; as Don Alvaro in La forza del destino at La Scala in Milan; as Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana at the Vienna State Opera; as Carlo VII in Giovanna d’Arco at the Teatro Regio di Parma; as Pollione in Norma in Toulouse (France); as Foresto in Attila at the Teatro San Carlo; as Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma; as Radamès in Aida in the Arena di Verona; as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut at the Torre del Lago Puccini Festival; and as Rodolfo in La Bohème at the New National Theatre Tokyo.

A gala concert under Zubin Mehta at the NCPA in Mumbai (India), as well as two concerts with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma during Expo 2025 in Osaka, round off his most recent engagements.

His current engagements include Turiddu in Genoa and Florence, Pinkerton at the Vienna State Opera, Des Grieux in Parma, Stiffelio at the Theater an der Wien, and Otello at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie.

In 2025 he was awarded the Beniamino Gigli Prize.
