Kingsley Lin

Kingsley Lin is a Taiwanese/British conductor. He studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music violin with Boris Kucharsky, but has also studied piano, viola and composition. Kingsley began his conducting studies with Sian Edwards. He is currently enrolled at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he studies conducting with Mark Stringer, and opera accompaniment with Andreas Henning.

Kingsley has actively participated in masterclasses with Mark Wigglesworth, Johannes Schlaefli, Nicolas Pasquet and Marin Alsop. In April 2022, he won the encouragement distinction prize at the 4th Athens International Masterclass and Competition. He has conducted orchestras in masterclasses including the Athens Philharmonia, the Manchester Camerata, the RNCM orchestra, and the Südwestdeutsche Philhamonie Konstanz.

Kingsley was covering conductor at the English National Ballet for the 2024/25 season, where he conducted performances of the new Watkins-Smith production of the Nutcracker, and Mary Skeaping’s classic production of Giselle. In November 2025, he returned to the company to conduct performances of Macmillan’s Sleeping Beauty. 

He has been a member of the Studio of the Vienna State Opera as a répétiteur since the 2024/25 season.
