Kimin Kim

Born in Seoul, he graduated from the Korea National University of Arts. From 2012 he was a Soloist with the Mariinsky Ballet and since 2015 he has been a Principal Dancer. He has danced several leading roles of the classical ballet repertory as well as pieces by William Forsythe or Wayne McGregor. On several occasions he has taken part in the Nureyev International Classical Ballet Festival in Kazan and other ballet festivals or galas. In 2015 he made his debut at the American Ballet Theatre as Solor in Natalia Makarova’s „La Bayadère”. At the Wiener Staatsoper he was dancing until now Conrad in Manuel Legris’ Le Corsaire, Herzog Albrecht in Elena Tschernischovas Giselle and in the Nurejew Gala 2019.
Awards and honours: First Prizes at international ballet competitions in Rome (2008), Seoul (2009) and Varna (2010), Grand Prix at the „Arabesque”-Ballettwettbewerb in Perm (2012) and at the Youth America Grand Prix International Competition in New York (2012), Prix Benois de la Danse (2016), et al.
