Katrina Galka

KATRINA GALKA studied at Boston University and Southern Methodist University. She has won numerous prizes and distinctions, among them the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (three times), Mario Lanza Scholarship, Heida Hermanns International Music Competition and Marcello Giordani Competition. She has performed at Portland Opera (e.g. Gilda in Rigoletto, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Elvira in L’italiana in Algeri, Papagena in The Magic Flute, Frasquita in Carmen, Kim in Show Boat and Ida in Die Fledermaus), Boston Modern Opera Project, Odyssey Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Atlanta Opera and Dallas Opera, among others. Furthermore, she has sung Cunegonde in Candide, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Woglinde in Das Rheingold, Blondchen in The Abduction from the Seraglio, Clorinda in La cenerentola, and First Wood Sprite in Rusalka. She also sang in the world premiere of The Riders of the Purple Sage in Arizona. Katrina Galka has equally been a highly successful concert soloist in many productions.
