Jason Reilly

Born in Toronto, Jason Reilly was educated at Canada’s National Ballet School and subsequently became a member of the Stuttgart Ballet in 1997, where he was promoted to demi-soloist in 2001/02, one year later to soloist and in 2003/04 to first soloist. He acquired a large repertoire of leading roles in story-telling ballets of important choreographers, among them works by John Cranko such as the title role in »Onegin«, Prince Siegfried in »Swan Lake«, Petrucchio in »Der Widerspenstigen Zähmung« and Romeo in »Romeo and Juliet«. Several renowned choreographers created roles for him, among others Mauro Bigonzetti, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Marco Goecke, Wayne McGregor, John Neumeier, Christian Spuck, Louis Stiens and Kevin O’Day. Jason Reilly has also toured and appeared as a guest all over the world, dancing with internationally renowned partners such as Greta Hodgkinson, Alessandra Ferri or Evelyn Hart.
Due to his interpretation of classical roles as well as his expressiveness and technical brilliance in contemporary pieces, Reilly has repeatedly been ranked among the most distinguished dancers in the annual critics' polls of the professional journal »ballettanz«. In 2006 he received the German Dance Prize »Zukunft«, and in 2015 he was awarded the title of Kammertänzer at the Staatstheater Stuttgart.
