Irina Tsymbal

Irina Tsymbal was born in Minsk (Belarus) where she graduated from the Choreographic Academy in 1997. She joined the Latvian State Opera in Riga before she became a Soloist at the Lithuanian Opera- and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius from 1998¬–2002. From 2002–2005 she was Soloist at the Hungarian State Ballet. In 2004 she made her Austrian debut during a guest performance of the Hungarian State Ballet in the Festival Theatre of St. Pölten. In 2005 she became Soloist of the Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper und Volksoper, in 2011 she was appointed First Soloist of the Wiener Staatsballett.

Her Viennese repertory comprises the title roles in Pierre Lacotte’s "La Sylphide", Elena Tschernischova’s „Giselle“, Kenneth MacMillan’s "Manon" and Boris Eifman’s „Anna Karenina“, Prinzessin Maria in Gyula Harangozó’s „Der Nussknacker“, Bella in Roland Petit’s „Die Fledermaus“, Julia in John Cranko’s „Romeo und Julia“, Tatjana in Cranko’s „Onegin”, Baronesse Mary Vetsera in Kenneth MacMillan’s „Mayerling“,Titania in Jorma Elo’s „Ein Sommernachtstraum“, Solo-Schatten in Vladimir Malakhov’s „Die Bajadere“, Gefährtin des Prinzen in Rudolf Nureyev’s „Schwanensee“, Verzauberte Prinzessin in Peter Wright’s "Dornröschen", Micaela in Davide Bombana’s „Ballett: Carmen“, soloist in Marius Petipa’s Grand Pas from „Paquita“, Verlobte des Jungen Dichters in „Platzkonzert“ from Gyula Harangozó sen., Vivette in Roland Petit’s "L´Arlésienne" and main roles in Ben van Cauwenbergh’s „Tanzhommage an Queen“, George Balanchine’s „Rubies“, Serge Lifar’s "Suite en blanc", Jerome Robbins’ „The Concert“, „In the Night“ and "The Four Seasons", Hans van Manen’s "Adagio Hammerklavier", Rudi van Dantzig’s „Vier letzte Lieder“ and "Moments Shared" (excerpt), John Neumeier’s "Verklungene Feste", Twyla Tharp’s „Variationen über ein Thema von Haydn“, Jiří Kylián’s „Petite Mort“ and „Bella Figura“, William Forsythe’s „The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude“, Myriam Naisy’s „Ederlezi“, David Dawson’s"A Million Kisses to my Skin", Jorma Elo’s „Glow – Stop“ and Helen Pickett’s "Eventide" as well as Marius Petipa’s Pas de deux from „Dornröschen“ and Wassili Wainonen’s „Moszkowski-Walzer“. She also created two roles in Ivan Cavallari’s „Tschaikowski Impressionen“.

She has appeared as guest dancer in many European countries and overseas.
