Hans Peter Kammerer
Hans Peter Kammerer was born in South Tyrol and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, under professors including Walter Berry. His first engagements included the Wiener Kammeroper and the Bregenz Festival. He also sang at the Berlin State Opera, the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, the Mozart Festival in Schönbrunn, Opéra Bastille, Stuttgart State Theatre, in Geneva, at the opera houses in Barcelona and Tokyo and at the Volksoper Wien. He débuted at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1995 as Dancaïre (»Carmen«), followed among other roles by Ascanio (»Gesualdo«), Marullo (»Rigoletto«), Barbier (»Die schweigsame Frau«), Graf Dominik (»Arabella«), Spalanzani (»The Tales of Hoffmann«), the Captain (»Eugene Onegin«), Haly (»L’italiana in Algeri«), Masetto (»Don Giovanni«), the Major Domo and Harlequin (»Ariadne auf Naxos«), Papageno (»The Magic Flute«), Dr Falke and Frank (»Die Fledermaus«), Gubetta (»Lucrezia Borgia«), Small Prisoner (»From the House of the Dead«), Wagner (»Faust«), Mityukha (»Boris Godunov«), and Samiel (»Der Freischütz«). He also performed in Zimmermann’s »Weisse Rose« at the Austrian Federal Parliament. He has the professional status of an Austrian Kammersänger.
