Fedor Rudin

Fedor Rudin, born in Moscow and raised in Paris, studied violin with Zakhar Bron at the Musikhochschule Köln, with Pierre Amoyal at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and currently at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Boris Kuschnir. In 2019 he was appointed concertmaster of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra.

Fedor Rudin is a laureate of numerous competitions, including the Premio Paganini Genova and the George Enescu Competition Bucharest. In 2019 he was awarded the Ivry Gitlis Prize. His CD album »Reflets« was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards.

Solo performances have taken him to the Carnegie Hall New York, Berlin Konzerthaus, Philharmonie de Paris, Vienna Musikverein and Tonhalle Zurich. He has played, among others with the Sinfonieorchester Basel, Orchestra of the Opéra National de Paris, Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Rundfunksinfonieorchester Berlin, Staatskapelle Weimar, Münchner Kammerorchester, Russian National Orchestra Novaya Rossiya and Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra under conductors such as Conrad van Alphen, Vladimir Jurowski, Kirill Karabits, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Christoph Poppen, Maxim Vengerov and Lorenzo Viotti.

Fedor Rudin is a member of the Fratres Trio, which performs in the unusual combination of violin, saxophone and piano. The ensemble won the Illzach International Chamber Music Competition and the Supersonic Award of Pizzicato Magazine. Further chamber music appearances have taken Fedor Rudin to the Salzburg Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Pietrasanta in Concerto, Crans Montana Classics and ArtenetrA.

In addition to his work as a violinist, he also appears regularly as a conductor and is currently finishing his training in this field with Simeon Pironkoff at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Fedor Rudin plays the violin »ex-Benecke« by Antonio Stradivari (Cremona, 1694), generously loaned to him by the Austrian National Bank.
