Cosmin Marinescu

The Romanian Cosmin Marinescu received his education at the »La Sylphide« Ballet Academy Bucharest (2007-2013), the High School of Choreography »Floria Capsali« Bucharest (2012-2013) and at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State (2013-2020), with teachers such as Vladimir Shishov and Jed O'Grady Weiss. In September 2020 the young dancer got his first contract as a member of the Vienna State Ballet. He was dancing so far John in Vesna Orlić’s »Peter Pan«, Lotte de Beer's & Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker«, Martin Schläpfer's world premieres »4« and »Sinfonie Nr. 15« as well as in »Ein Deutsches Requiem«. Moreover, he performed in Robert Weithas' world premiere of »Raum 112« in »Platform Choreography«. His awards & honors comprise honorary title »Ambassador Talent« granted by the Community Foundation and MOL Romania, winner of »The Great Prize of Choreography« (NPC Bucharest, 2013), First Prize at »Dance Star – Floria Capsali« in Bucharest (2013), WBC Open Excellence Award in Sibiu (Romania, 2013), Gold Medal for contemporary solo and Silver Medal for classical at the L'Odyssée de la Danse in Lyon (2016) and participation at Prix de Lausanne (2020). Furthermore, Cosmin Marinescu was taking part in several international gala performances of ballet schools in Japan, Romania and Italy as well as in Alina Cojocaru’s Gala for Hospice of Hope in Sadler’s Wells Theatre – London’s Dance House (2013).
