Christian Van Horn
Christian van Horn has performed worldwide at numerous major opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the San Francisco Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, the Canadian Opera Company, the Paris Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, in Rome, Stuttgart, and Salzburg. His opera roles include the title roles in Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro, as well as Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress, Méphistophélès in Faust, Claggart in Billy Budd, the Four Villains in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Escamillo in Carmen, Alidoro in La cenerentola, Banquo in Macbeth, and Gesler in Guillaume Tell. He has also participated in significant premieres and American premieres. As a concert singer, he is successful and in demand, having performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others. Highlights of this season include his appearances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and in Chicago.
