Anthony Robin Schneider

ANTHONY ROBIN SCHNEIDER is a bass singer of Austrian-New Zealand origin. He graduated from the opera studio of Houston Grand Opera, where he could be heard, amongst others, as Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia). Before that, he studied at Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, where he sang the following roles: Sarastro, Sparafucile, Archibaldo in Italo Montemezzi’s L’amore dei tre re, Komtur, Méphistophélès (Faust), Colline, Conte Des Grieux (Manon). He will make his debut at Oper Frankfurt in the current season (as Landlord in Der Ferne Klang) and as soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphonie with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. In 2018 he debuted at Santa Fe Opera as Truffaldino (Ariadne auf Naxos), where he also sang Baron and Grand Inquisitor in Bernstein’s Candide. In the previous summer, he was Filene Young Artist at Wolf Trap Opera, where he played Sacristan (Tosca) and Fabrizio (La pietra del paragone). At his Canadian debut in 2017, he sang Handel’s Messiah with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Anthony Robin Schneider has won several awards and scholarships.
