Andy Hallwaxx

Born in Burgenland, he began writing and directing plays at an early age in addition to his work as an actor. For the Vienna Volkstheater under the direction of Michael Schottenberg, he wrote, among others, May Way, Fahr' ma nach Kentucky, Die Radiofamilie, Here we are! The Andrew Sisters, Kaktusblüte and most recently in 2020 Sechs Tanzstunden in sechs Wochen under the direction of Kay Voges. At Landestheater Linz, he staged Babytalk, The world goes round, Grand Hotel, and 2019's Mary and Max. At the Vienna Metropol Strangers in the night, Rosen aus Tirol, Go West, Fledermaus reloaded and 2020 Rock my soul, Pension Schöller, Die Fledermaus and Die lustige Witwe at the Festival in Weitra, for the Klosterneuburg Opera Don Pasquale and Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor. At the Staatsoperette Dresden he directed Frau Luna in the Rabenhof Wien the evening Alles für'n Hugo with Katharina Strasser. At the Schlossspielen Kobersdorf he staged Außer Kontrolle in 2021. At the Vienna State Opera, he most recently designed Ambrogio in Der Barbier für Kinder. From 1997-2014 he was director of the Carinthian Children's Summer and still often works with and for children.
