Aleksandra Jovanovic

Belgrade coloratura soprano ALEKSANDRA JOVANOVIČ started her musical training at age 9. She studied singing under Tatjana Bajalica and at the Faculty of Music of Belgrade University of Arts. In 2018, she won an award in the international Meistersinger von Nürnberg competition, in 2017 in Ada Sari singing competition and in 2014 in Bruna Špiler competition. 2019 saw her win the Emmerich Smola Prize in broadcaster SWR’s Junge Opernstars competition. She debuted as Queen of the Night at Madlenianum Opera and Theatre in Belgrade in 2013. In the 2014/15 season, she sang Pepi Pleininger in Wiener Blut. In 2014, she made her debut at National Theatre Belgrade, in 2017 at Novi Sad’s Serbian National Theatre and in 2019 at Deutsche Oper Berlin, each time as Queen of the Night. The 2019/20 season is dedicated to the same role, this time with performances in Berlin and Wiesbaden, among others. She has also sung at Opéra national de Paris. Aleksandra Jovanovič is a successful concert singer and has performed in Die Schöpfung and Carmina Burana.
