
Lidia Fridman was born in Samara and began her studies in her hometown before continuing her training at the Elena Obraztsova Academy in St. Petersburg. In 2015, she moved to Italy, where she studied in Udine and Venice. She is a prizewinner of several international competitions and was nominated as "Young Artist of the Year" at the 2021 International Opera Awards.
The 2024/25 season features numerous exciting engagements, including her role debut as Lady Macbeth in the French version of Macbeth at the Festival Verdi in Parma, her house debut in the title role of Lucrezia Borgia at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Norma. She also debuted at Teatro La Fenice as Anna Bolena and performed Marie in Wozzeck.
Her most recent appearances include Salome at the Immling Festival, Abigaille (Nabucco) at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, and Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at the Teatro Regio di Torino – the latter two productions conducted by Riccardo Muti. She also appeared as Anna and Fidelia in a double bill of Le Villi and Edgar during the Puccini Anniversary celebrations at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago.
