The multiple award winner Adriana Gonzáles, including winner of the Operalia Competition in 2019, is one of the most promising singers of her generation.
Born in Guatemala, the soprano was a member of the Atelier Lyrique of the Opéra National de Paris and, during the 2017/18 season, a member of the Opera Studio of Zurich Opera.
Her roles include Micaëla (Carmen) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Oper Frankfurt, Dutch National Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Opéra de Toulon, the Liceu in Barcelona and in Lausanne; Liù (Turandot) at Houston Grand Opera, Opéra de Toulon, Opéra National du Rhin, the Paris Bastille, the Liceu, Hamburg State Opera, Berlin State Opera and Opéra de Dijon; Mimì (La Bohème) at the Liceu, in Toulon and at Deutsche Oper Berlin; Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at Houston Grand Opera; Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at Hamburg State Opera; the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) at Opéra National de Lorraine, Oper Frankfurt, in Luxembourg and most recently at the Salzburg Festival; the title role in Suor Angelica in Copenhagen; Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) in Hamburg; Salud (La vida breve) in Madrid; and Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) in Zurich.
She has also sung Verdi’s Requiem with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, in Lisbon and Oviedo, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in Parma and at Boston Symphony Hall, and Beethoven’s Missa solemnis at the Tokyo Spring Festival.
Her first album, featuring songs by Robert Dussaut and Hélène Covatti (Audax Records), was awarded the Prize of the German Record Critics. In 2021 she recorded the songs of Isaac Albéniz for Audax Records, followed in 2023 by a French duet album with mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti.
Her projects for the 2025/26 season and beyond include Desdemona (Otello) at Opéra National du Rhin and in Toulouse, Micaëla in Madrid and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Countess at the Vienna State Opera and in Barcelona, Fiordiligi with the Vienna State Opera in Monte Carlo, Verdi’s Requiem in Zurich, and Liù at the Paris Bastille.
