JEAN-CHRISTOPHE SPINOSI was born in Corsica. He is a sought-after violinist and conductor and founded the Ensemble Matheus in 1991 with which he has performed at major European and American opera houses and festivals. The ensemble boasts a repertoire of everything from the early to the contemporary. He has performed with the ensemble at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Theater an der Wien, Opéra National de Lorraine, Paris Opera, at the Salzburg Festival, Hamburg State Opera and at the Zurich Opera. He has also performed with the the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Stockholm, with the German Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Vienna RSO. Recent performances have seen the conductor perform at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Zürich Opera House, and at the Salzburg Festival. He gave his debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 2010 with Il barbiere di Siviglia.
