DAN ETTINGER is one of the most internationally sought-after conductors of his generation. Since 2015/2016, he has been Principal Conductor of the Stuttgart Philharmonic and General Music Director at the State Capital, Stuttgart. From 2009-2016, he was the GMD at National Theatre in Mannheim, from 2010-2015, Principal Conductor at the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra where he currently holds the position of “Conductor Laureate”. He has been Principal Conductor and Musical Director of the Israel Symphony Orchestra since 2005 and today, he is their First Conductor in Residence. As Resident Conductor and Choirmaster at the Israeli Opera, he developed an extensive repertoire, was Daniel Barenboim’s Assistant in 2003 at the Berlin State Opera and held the position of Kapellmeister there until 2009. Since then, he has made regular appearances at the most renowned international opera houses, such as the Met, Washington National Opera, ROH Covent Garden, Opéra de Paris, New National Theatre in Tokyo, in Zurich, at the Salzburg Festival and at the Bavarian State Opera. He made his debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 2007 with L’elisir d’amore and has since here directed Aida, Carmen, L’italiana in Algeri, La Bohème, Otello, Tosca.
