Lars Woldt

LAS WOLDT was born in Herford and studied composition and vocal studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. After permanent engagements in Detmold and Innsbruck, he became a Member of the Ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper from 2004-2010, where, most recently, his guest performance in the role of Baculus in Der Wildschütz was a roaring success. From 2009-2011, he was Member of the Ensemble at the Vienna State Opera, and often returns to sing there as a guest performer. He has also appeared as a guest performer on the international opera stage where he sings the most important roles of his fach. He enjoyed considerable success in the role of “Doktor” with Zurich Opera, Rocco, La Roche, Daland and Commendatore at the Theater an der Wien, La Roche, Osmin and Fasolt with Paris Opera, Kaspar in Barcelona and as a concert performer with the LSO in London, as well as Daland, Kaspar and van Bett in Hamburg. He has sung the role of Ochs with the Hamburg, Stuttgart and Vienna State Opera, Budapest National Opera, Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen, Deutschen Oper am Rhein and at the Glyndebourne Festival. Future plans include Osmin at the Semper Opera House, Fafner with the Elbphilharmonieorchester, Morosus at the Bavarian State Opera and Daland with Zurich Opera.
