The Ukrainian tenor DMYTRO POPOV, Operalia Winner 2007, began his career at the National Theatre in Kiev where he made his debut in the role of Lenski (Eugen Onegin). International recognition came in 2013 after his performance as Rodolfo (La Bohème) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. Engagements since then have seen him perform at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semper Opera House, at the Teatro Real in Madrid, and in Lyon, Turin, Toulouse, Stuttgart and Monte Carlo. Future engagements include performances at the Zurich Opera House, in Geneva, at the Bavarian and Hamburg State Opera, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Paris Opéra Bastille, at the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, and in Toulouse. He also makes regular appearances on the concert stage (including at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, with the Berlin Philharmonic, at the Tanglewood Music Festival, and Verbier Festival). He gave his debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 2014 as Rodolfo and has since also sung the role of Alfredo (La traviata).
