Nicola Alaimo

NICOLA ALAIMO is originally from Palermo. He gave his debut performance in 1997 as Dandini (La cenerentola) and has also sung in many of Rossini’s other operas, namely the roles of Figaro, Bartolo, Raimbaud (Le Comte Ory), Don Profondo (Il viaggio a Reims) and Taddeo (L’italiana in Algeri) as well as Riccardo Muti Pharaon (Moïse et Pharaon), to name but a few. He has also sung the roles of Don Pasquale, Dottor Malatesta and Belcore, Verdi’s Graf Luna, Ezio, Giorgio Germont, Paolo, Renato, Fra Melitone and Falstaff as well as Leporello, Sharpless, Sancho Panza, Gianni Schicchi, Escamillo and Don Giovanni. He has appeared at the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Paris Opéra, La Scala Milan, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Salzburg Festival, in Rome and Naples, Madrid, Monte Carlo, Munich, Marseille, Barcelona and Turin, among others. Latest performances include Don Bartolo, Don Geronio at the Rossini Festival, Taddeo at the Met, Simon Boccanegra in Antwerp, Giorgio Germont at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and Luna in Monte Carlo.
