Marcus Pelz

MARCUS PELZ was born in Stuttgart and studied Solo singing, Lied and Oratorio, Classical Operette as well as Alte Musik at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien and completed the opera school of the University for Music and Arts in Vienna. First engagements in St. Pölten and at the Wiener Kammeroper (1995-1997) and the Neuen Oper Vienna were the basis for his engagement at the Wiener Staatsoper, first as scholarship holder of the Herbert von Karajan Centre and since 1999 as member of the ensemble. Guest performances have led him among others, to the leading role of Wozzeck in the Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires and to the Maggio Musicale in Florence with the Rosenkavalier. His repertoire in the house on the ring includes more than 100 works, among others Hermann, Gregorio, Schaunard, Notar u. Polizeikommissar, Kothner and Konrad Nachtigall, Sprecher and 2nd Priest, Antonio, Phorbas, Angelotti, Donald, Gualtiero Raleigh, Alessio, Masetto, Haly, Johann, 1st Schäfer, Albert, Altgesell and Saretzki. Much loved by the younger audiences are his performances in the Children's opera in the Wiener Staatsoper.
