KS Leo Nucci
KS LEO NUCCI was born in 1942 in Castiglione dei Pepoli (Bologna). After several successful competitions, he made his debut in 1967 at the Teatro Sperimentale in Spoleto as Figaro in Gioachino Rossinis Il barbiere di Siviglia. Since his successful debut at the Milan Scala, he regularly sings on the worlds most important stages. He has worked with many of the biggest names in conducting, namely Herbert von Karajan, Sir Georg Solti, Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Carlos Kleiber, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Chailly, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Carlo Maria Giulini, Giuseppe Patanè, Nello Santi, Bruno Bartoletti and Daniel Oren. Leo Nucci is considered to be one of the leading singers of his generation. He made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1979 as Barbiere – Figaro, and has since sung in several premieres and other works, such as Beispiel Gérard, Ankarström, Posa, Dulcamara, Belcore, Gianni Schicchi, Enrico, Macbeth, Nabucco, Tonio, Luna, Monforte, Rigoletto, Simon Boccanegra, and Forza-Carlo. Leo Nucci is an honorary member of the Wiener Staatsoper.
