Eric Halfvarson

ERIC HALFVARSON was born in Illinois, USA. He has sang on all the worlds most important stages and concert orchestras. He has held engagements, among others, at the Paris Opéra Bastille, the Bayreuther Festpielen, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera Chicago, the Canadian Opera, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Liceu in Barcelona, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Deutsche Opera Berlin, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden as well as in San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Santa Fé, Washington and Los Angeles. His repertoire includes works like Claggart (Billy Budd), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Philipp II. und Großinquisitor (Don Carlo), King Henry (Lohengrin), Hunding (Die Walküre), Méphistophélès (Faust), Ochs (Der Rosenkavalier) and Hagen (Götterdämmerung). He made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1998, singing the role of King Henry and since then, has also sung John Claggart, Großinquisitor, Daland (Der fliegende Holländer), Hunding, Sarastro, Il Commendatore and Hagen at the house on the ring.
