Alasdair Kent
In the few years since his official debut, Australian-born Alasdair Kent has established himself as one of the most sought-after tenors in his field. Both his assured, technically superbly trained voice, his noble timbre and the broad repertoire he has mastered regularly secure him the applause of audiences and the press. Alasdair Kent is equally at home in Italian bel canto as in the works of Mozart, Verdi, in French operas from Baroque Rameau to Bizet, in concert music from Bach's oratorios to Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. As an interpreter of central operatic roles, he has already been heard repeatedly, despite his youth, at some of the world's major stages - such as the Bavarian State Opera, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Zurich Opera House, the Festival in Aix-en-Provence and the Rossini Festival in Pesaro. After his studies in Philadelphia, the multiple competition prize winner first sang on numerous stages in North America before his attention was drawn to him in Europe as well. In 2022/23 he returns to the Bavarian State Opera for two productions (Don Ramiro in La cenerentola and Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail). Furthermore, he can be heard in a tour of Opera Australia at the Royal Opera House Muscat as Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and also makes his role debut as Ernesto (Don Pasquale) at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. In 2021/22 he interpreted among others Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in Munich, at the Dallas Opera, at the Cologne Opera and at the Norske Opera & Ballett.
