Edgardo Rocha

The Uruguayan-born tenor EDGARDO ROCHA studied singing in Montevideo and Italy. In 2010 he celebrated his acclaimed debut at the Martina Franca Festival in the title role of Donizetti's Gianni di Parigi, which was followed by numerous invitations to important opera houses in Italy (including La Scala, Florence, Verona, Turin, Naples, Rome). Further engagements have taken him repeatedly to the Wexford Festival, the Salzburg Festival, Stuttgart, Munich, Hamburg, Dresden, Paris, Tel Aviv, Seattle, Geneva, Lausanne, Barcelona, Madrid, Zurich, Nancy, Marseille, Munich, among others. Among Edgardo Rocha's most important projects after his Salzburg Festival appearances in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Whitsun and in the summer of 2022 are Elvino in new productions of La sonnambula in Nice and Düsseldorf, Don Narciso in Madrid, G.rald (Lakmé) and Lindoro in Zurich as well as Leicester (Maria Stuarda) and the title role in Roberto Devereux in Geneva. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2012 as Count Almaviva and later sang Lindoro (L'italiana in Algeri) here.
