Vito Priante

Born in Naples Priante studied German and French literature before making his professional debut nel 2002 in »La serva padrona« in Florence. He has performed throughout the world for opera companies, festivals and venues including La Scala, Bayerische Staatsoper, Semperoper Dresden, Vienna Staatsoper, Rome Opera, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, LA Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Salzburg Festival, The Royal Opera London. Priante has worked with renowned Orchestra Conductors and Stage Directors including Muti, Bolton, Pappano, Gatti, Currentzis, Conlon, Stein, Vick, De Ana, Michieletto. His repertoire includes Conte/Figaro (»Le Nozze di Figaro«) Figaro (»Il Barbiere di Siviglia«), Don Giovanni/Leporello (»Don Giovanni«), Dandini (»La Cenerentola«), Guglielmo (»Così fan tutte«), Nottingham (»Roberto Devereux«), Prosdocimo (»Il Turco in Italia«), Belcore (»L’elisir d’amore«), Alphonse XI (»La Favorite«), Belfiore (»Un giorno di regno«), Seid (»Il Corsaro«), the Four Villains (»Les Contes d’Hoffmann«), Escamillo (»Carmen«), Papageno (»Die Zauberflöte«). In 2009 he was awarded the XXVIII Franco Abbiati Prize for Best Male Voice for his interpretation of the title role in Dallapiccola’s »Il Prigioniero« at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, Harding/Stein. In 2017 he was awarded the BBC Music Magazine Awards »Opera Award« for his interpretation of Leporello in Don Giovanni conducted Currentzis.
