Nicole Car
The Australian soprano Nicole Car has established herself as one of the leading sopranos of her generation and has become a regular presence at the world’s foremost opera houses. She was recently appointed Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République française.
Most recently, she made her role debuts as Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) at the Vienna State Opera, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at the Bavarian State Opera, Matrëna (Mazeppa) with the Munich Radio Orchestra, and Rusalka at Opera Australia.
Highlights of her career include Ellen Orford (Peter Grimes) at La Scala, Amelia (Simon Boccanegra), Donna Elvira, and Elisabetta (Don Carlo) at the Paris Opéra; Fiordiligi, Mimì, and Ellen Orford at the Metropolitan Opera; Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) and Mimì at both the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and the Bavarian State Opera; as well as Elisabetta and Salomé (Hérodiade) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Her 2025/26 season includes Mimì, Rusalka, and the female leading roles in Il trittico at the Vienna State Opera, Elisabetta (Don Carlo) in Dallas (USA), Rusalka at the Paris Opéra, and Amelia at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
