Michael Volle
MICHAEL VOLLE is one of the most sought-after singers around. The baritone is a fixture at all major opera houses and festivals worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Munich and Vienna State Operas, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in London, the Opéra national de Paris, and the opera houses in Berlin. Michael Volle has a particularly close relationship with the Berlin State Opera. The celebrated Wagner interpreter is also a regular guest at the Salzburg and Bayreuth Festivals and at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. Michael Volle is one of the leading interpreters of the German repertoire, but the baritone is also a world leader in the Italian repertoire. He can also be heard on the concert stage in all the major concert halls of the world and with the most renowned orchestras. Current engagements include the title role in Der fliegende Holländer at the Hamburg State Opera, the title role in Falstaff and Wotan/Wanderer (Der Ring des Nibelungen) at the Berlin State Opera, Amfortas (Parsifal) at the Bayreuth Festival, and Créon (Oedipus rex) at the Salzburg Festival.
